India Round Table 2019

Nurturing Values and Spirituality in Early Childhood for the Prevention of Violence

Dear Friends,
Children who experience intense stress during early childhood, due to exposure to violence can suffer from reduced brain cell connections, negatively impacting their learning and emotional development, as well as their trust and relations with others. The India roundtable discussions will help increase awareness about violence against children in early childhood, engage and mobilize different stakeholders and communities. Through this we hope to strengthen norms and values that support non-violent, respectful, nurturing, positive and gender-equitable relations, and also contribute to reducing parenting practices that violate the dignity of the child. The follow-up action will directly engage the participating institutions and in particular, religious communities and networks
