Mahalir Mela 2022: to mark International Women’s Day 2022

Theme: ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’

Objectives of the 2022 Women’s Day celebration:

  • Celebrate the International Women’s day, 2022 and organize a series of public engagement interfaces to highlight the 2022 theme.
  • Organize a Collective reflection and an Interfaith Prayer with Faith Communities to thank women and men who have upheld the dignity of women during this multi-dimensional COVID 19 global crisis
  • Conduct a public hearing with young girls and boys on the theme ‘Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow’
  • Presentation on Partnership in achieving Sustainable Development Goals
  • Convene the members of Shanti Ashram’s partnership platform and honour 100 extraordinary women from the frontlines and make visible their voices, their experiences and their contributions in making their communities safer during the COVID 19 Pandemic
  • Share a community lunch and celebrate together
